Academics
The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) is one of the most international universities in China, with over fifty-five years of experience in international educa- tion. The university has more than 1,800 international students from over seventy countries and offers many classes taught in Eng- lish. Located in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, UIBE is a modern, well-designed, picturesque campus. The university specializes in the fields of economics, law, management, and international studies; however, additional academic areas, such as the humanities and social sciences, are offered as well. At CIS's program at UIBE, students learn Chinese language and culture in the educational and cultural center of China; additionally, students have the unique opportunity to take courses taught in English alongside Chinese and other international students.

Subjects Offered
UIBE's academic year includes two semesters, running from August to December and February to June. CIS students are required take twenty hours of Chinese language study per week (six U.S. credits), one Chinese culture course (three U.S. credits), plus one or two electives (three or six U.S. credits). Electives may be chosen from courses in international trade and economics, finance and banking, business, law, international studies, and public administration, among other subjects.
