Introduction

Rhodes University was originally founded in 1904, modeled after the tutorial system in place at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Rhodes provides students with a close-knit community feel both in and out of the classroom. Grahamstown is a small college town full of friendly people, cultural excellence, and many distinguished private and public schools. The university offers a small campus, with small class sizes, and top-notch academics. There are also excellent library and computer facilities, attractive student residences, and numerous social and interest-based societies from which to choose.
